Seedance 2.0 API: First Video in 3 Calls, From 220 Credits
Use the Seedance 2.0 API on AIVeed in three calls, from 220 credits a clip ($1.09 on the $99 pack). Request fields, frame and reference modes, and every cost.
The Seedance 2.0 API on AIVeed takes three calls — create a key, submit the job, fetch the result — and a Seedance 2.0 clip costs from 220 credits, $1.09 on the $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack, for 6 seconds at 480p (AIVeed API reference, checked September 30, 2026; methodology).
AIVeed serves Seedance 2.0 through the same REST API as Veo 3, Kling 3.0, Grok Imagine and five other Seedance models, on one key and one credit balance. The steps below follow the AIVeed API quickstart and API reference, and failed jobs are refunded automatically (both checked September 30, 2026). To follow along, create an AIVeed API key first.
How do I use the Seedance 2.0 API?
The Seedance 2.0 API on AIVeed works in four steps, per the AIVeed API quickstart (checked September 30, 2026):
- Create an API key. Sign up on the AIVeed developer dashboard, verify your email, and create a key on the API Keys page. The secret starts with aiv_sk_ and is shown once, so store it straight away.
- Submit the Seedance 2.0 job. Send a POST to https://api.aiveed.io/v1/generate/video with the header X-API-Key and a JSON body naming the model seedance-2, a prompt, a resolution, a duration and an aspect ratio. The response returns a job id and the credits charged.
- Wait for the result. Poll GET /v1/jobs/{id} until the status is completed, or register a webhook or open a server-sent-events stream to be told instead.
- Keep the video. A completed job carries a result_url; the permanent MP4 link is listed by GET /v1/videos, which the AIVeed API reference names as the durable source.
A Seedance 2.0 request body for a 10-second, 720p vertical clip looks like this (field names from the AIVeed API reference, checked September 30, 2026):
POST https://api.aiveed.io/v1/generate/video X-API-Key: aiv_sk_... Content-Type: application/json Idempotency-Key: launch-teaser-001{ “model”: “seedance-2”, “prompt”: “A skateboarder lands a kickflip at sunset, camera tracking low, crowd cheering”, “resolution”: “720p”, “duration”: “10”, “aspect_ratio”: “9:16” }
That Seedance 2.0 request costs 600 credits, $2.97 on the $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack (AIVeed pricing endpoint, checked September 30, 2026). Send an Idempotency-Key header on every Seedance 2.0 job: the AIVeed API reference says a retry with the same key replays the original job instead of charging again.
What does the Seedance 2.0 API cost on AIVeed?
The Seedance 2.0 API on AIVeed costs 220 to 5,000 credits a clip depending on resolution and duration, which is $1.09 to $24.75 on the $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack or $1.83 to $41.67 on the $5 / 600-credit Pilot pack (AIVeed pricing endpoint and AIVeed pricing, checked September 30, 2026). The AIVeed web app charges the same credits.
| Seedance 2.0 · resolution · duration | Credits | USD on $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack | USD on $5 / 600-credit Pilot pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| AIVeed Seedance 2.0 · 480p · 6s | 220 | $1.09 | $1.83 |

| AIVeed Seedance 2.0 · 4K · 15s | 5,000 | $24.75 | $41.67 |
Settle a Seedance 2.0 prompt and its inputs at 480p before paying for 1080p or 4K: a 15-second 4K Seedance 2.0 clip on AIVeed costs 5,000 credits, about 23 times the 220 credits of a 6-second 480p draft (AIVeed pricing endpoint, checked September 30, 2026). Unusable takes add up at scale; one AI film-tool founder described the problem as unpredictable output, even with SOTA model, resulting in wasted shot, and that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars for a studio
(Hacker News, September 27, 2026).
Seedance 2.0 on the AIVeed API needs no subscription: credit packs run from $5 for 600 credits to $99 for 20,000, and new API accounts start with free test credits (AIVeed pricing and API quickstart, checked September 30, 2026). The Seedance 2.0 price breakdown lists every setting on every pack.
How do I guide Seedance 2.0 with images, video or audio?
The Seedance 2.0 API on AIVeed accepts two kinds of visual guidance, and a Seedance 2.0 request uses one kind or the other: the AIVeed API reference says sending frame fields and reference fields together returns a 422 error (checked September 30, 2026). Upload local files first with POST /v1/uploads, which costs 0 credits and returns a URL to pass in. Developers ask whether reference inputs work through third-party APIs; on the launch thread for a video API router, one Hacker News commenter asked, have you been able to get Seedance 2.5 WITH reference images / char sheets working?
(Hacker News, September 16, 2026). On AIVeed, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5 both take reference images as a documented request field, reference_image_urls (AIVeed API reference, checked September 30, 2026).
| Seedance 2.0 mode | Request fields | Limit | Extra credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text only | prompt | 20,000 characters | None |
| Start frame | first_frame_url (or image_url) | 1 image | None |
| Start and end frame | first_frame_url + last_frame_url | 1 image each | None |
| Reference images | reference_image_urls | Up to 9 | None |
| Reference videos | reference_video_urls | Up to 3 | +100 at 480p, +200 at 720p, +600 at 1080p, +1,000 at 4K |
| Reference audio | reference_audio_urls | 1 | None |
A 10-second, 720p Seedance 2.0 clip guided by a reference video costs 600 + 200 = 800 credits, $3.96 on the $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack (AIVeed pricing endpoint, checked September 30, 2026). Seedance 2.0 generates sound by default through the AIVeed API; send generate_audio: false for a silent clip.
Does Seedance 2.0 have an API?
Seedance 2.0 has an API: ByteDance links to one from its official Seedance 2.0 page, and AIVeed serves Seedance 2.0 through its own REST API as seedance-2 (ByteDance Seed and AIVeed API model catalog, checked September 30, 2026). ByteDance describes the model this way: Seedance 2.0 adopts a unified multimodal audio-video joint generation architecture that supports text, image, audio, and video inputs
. Our AI video generation API guide compares every video model on the AIVeed API.
How is Seedance 2.0 different from Seedance 1.5 Pro on the API?
Seedance 2.0 on the AIVeed API adds reference inputs, an end frame and resolutions up to 4K over Seedance 1.5 Pro, at a higher price per second (AIVeed API reference, checked September 30, 2026). Seedance 2.0 takes up to 9 reference images, 3 reference videos and 1 reference audio file in 6-, 10- or 15-second clips. Seedance 1.5 Pro (seedance-1.5-pro) takes a prompt and an optional start image, with audio, at 480p or 720p in 4-, 8- or 12-second clips. At 480p, Seedance 1.5 Pro costs 80 credits for 12 seconds and Seedance 2.0 costs 500 credits for 15 seconds, so Seedance 2.0 costs five times as much per second (AIVeed pricing endpoint, checked September 30, 2026).
What happens if a Seedance 2.0 API job fails?
A failed Seedance 2.0 API job on AIVeed is refunded automatically: credits are charged up front and returned if the provider fails (AIVeed API reference, checked September 30, 2026). A request the balance can't cover returns INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS and charges nothing, and an option Seedance 2.0 doesn't accept returns UNSUPPORTED_OPTION naming the field (AIVeed API errors page, checked September 30, 2026).
Methodology and verification
Verified on September 30, 2026. The steps, request fields, input modes, limits and error codes come from the public AIVeed API quickstart, reference and errors pages. Credit prices and reference-video surcharges come from the public AIVeed pricing endpoint and match the AIVeed Seedance model page. Pack prices are the USD packs listed on AIVeed pricing: Pilot $5 / 600 credits, Starter $19 / 3,000, Popular $49 / 9,000 and Business $99 / 20,000.
Dollar figures are clip credits × pack price ÷ pack credits: on the Business pack, $99 ÷ 20,000 = $0.00495 a credit, so 220 credits is $1.089, shown as $1.09. Every figure was recomputed at full precision and rounded once, half-cents up. The example request uses documented fields only and was not run; no video was generated for this guide.
