Pika H3 Flex: price and fit, compared

Pika H3 Flex launched on October 29, 2026 and, at Pika's launch rates, a 15-second clip costs $0.15 at 480p, $0.30 at 768p and $1.20 at 4K on Pika's API, about half of Pika's regular rates (Pika H3 Flex page, checked October 29, 2026). On AIVeed today, a 15-second clip on MiniMax H3, the model H3 Flex is built on, costs 240 credits: $1.19 on the $99 / 20,000-credit Business pack, one cent under Pika's own $1.20 API price for the same model (AIVeed API model catalog and AIVeed pricing; Pika API pricing; all checked October 29, 2026).

Pika H3 Flex is coming to AIVeed soon, on the same credit balance as every other model. Until then, this post sets out what H3 Flex is, where its quality claims come from, which jobs it suits, and what the same 15 seconds costs on the models you can run on AIVeed right now.

What is Pika H3 Flex?

Pika H3 Flex is an open-weight video model with synchronized stereo audio, post-trained by Pika from MiniMax H3 and cut from 50 sampling steps to six (Pika H3 Flex page, checked October 29, 2026). It makes 5- to 15-second clips at 24 fps, generates natively at 480p or 768p, and upscales to 1080p, 2K or 4K on Pika's hosted API. It accepts up to 12 references (9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips), prompts of up to 8,000 characters and 11 aspect ratios from 21:9 to 9:21, and the hosted API can export five separate audio stems: dialogue, score, sound effects, Foley and ambience.

Pika announced it on X on October 29, 2026: It can produce a 15-second clip with soundtrack in as little as 7 seconds. (Pika on X, October 29, 2026). Pika's own page qualifies that figure: the 7 seconds is transformer compute time in a controlled benchmark, not guaranteed end-to-end time. The weights are on Hugging Face and the inference code on GitHub; ComfyUI's documentation says the weights are distributed under the MiniMax H3 Community License, which carries territorial and commercial-use conditions (ComfyUI docs, checked October 29, 2026).

How much does Pika H3 Flex cost?

Pika H3 Flex costs $0.01 a second at 480p, $0.02 at 768p, $0.035 at 1080p, $0.04 at 2K and $0.08 at 4K at Pika's launch rates, against regular rates of $0.02, $0.04, $0.07, $0.08 and $0.16 (Pika H3 Flex page, checked October 29, 2026). Audio stems add $0.001 a second, and reference-to-video is billed on input plus output seconds at higher rates. Pika API Club members get 15 free generations a day from October 29 to November 5.

The table below puts a 15-second clip side by side. AIVeed rows are converted from credits on two packs: $99 / 20,000 credits (Business, $0.00495 a credit) and $5 / 600 credits (Pilot, $0.00833 a credit).

Pika H3 Flex is priced for volume: at launch rates a 480p draft costs about a quarter of a 15-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip on the Business pack. Its 1080p, 2K and 4K outputs are upscaled from a 480p or 768p generation, so compare them with the 1080p and 4K settings of Seedance 2.0 and Gemini Omni on AIVeed by looking at the output, not the label.

Is Pika H3 Flex better than MiniMax H3?

Pika H3 Flex is cheaper than MiniMax H3 at Pika's own API prices, and Pika says it is also faster and ranks slightly higher for quality. Pika reports H3 Flex as up to 1.8 times faster and up to 80% cheaper than what it calls H3Max, on average across matched text-, image- and reference-to-video tests, and says it debuted at number 7 on DesignArena's text-to-video leaderboard, the highest of any open-weight model (Pika H3 Flex page and Pika on X, October 29, 2026). The board excerpt on Pika's page puts H3 Flex at 1293, MiniMax H3 at 1277 and Wan 3.0, which runs on AIVeed today, higher at 1324 (Pika H3 Flex page, checked October 30, 2026). Those are Pika's figures; DesignArena's live board could not be loaded from our research machine, and leaderboard positions move as votes come in. MiniMax H3 on AIVeed generates natively at 768p or 2K with sound always on, so for a final 2K render it remains the base model to compare against.

What is Pika H3 Flex best used for?

Pika H3 Flex suits jobs where speed and cost per attempt matter more than native high resolution. Pika's own description is a model built for professional iteration (Pika on X, October 29, 2026). The table maps jobs to the model that fits them, with the AIVeed model to use today.

Can you run Pika H3 Flex locally?

Pika H3 Flex can run locally, but it needs data-centre hardware: Pika tested it on a single NVIDIA H100 with 80 GB of memory, and the download is about 215 GB, of which about 210 GB is the MiniMax H3 base model (Pika H3 Flex page, checked October 29, 2026). ComfyUI's example, a 5-second clip at 1344x768, finishes in about a minute on one card (ComfyUI docs, checked October 29, 2026). Locally the model generates at 480p and 768p only; the upscaler, stem separation and prompt rewriter are hosted-only features. For most creators, a hosted model on a pay-per-clip balance is the shorter path.

Is Pika H3 Flex available on AIVeed?

Pika H3 Flex is launching on AIVeed soon, on the same credits that already run Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Wan 3.0, MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni and Grok Imagine. Credits never expire, failed generations are refunded automatically and every new account starts with 200 free credits (AIVeed pricing, checked October 29, 2026). Until H3 Flex goes live, the AIVeed MiniMax H3 page runs the base model it was trained from, the AIVeed Seedance page covers Seedance 2.0 Mini for cheap drafts, and the AIVeed Wan page covers clips up to 30 seconds. Our Seedance 2.0 price breakdown lists every Seedance setting, and if you are weighing a Pika plan instead, read how Pika's plan billing works first.

Methodology and verification

Verified on October 29, 2026. Pika H3 Flex specs, launch and regular rates, speed and leaderboard claims come from Pika's H3 Flex page and Pika's launch post on X; MiniMax H3 API rates on Pika from Pika's API pricing page; licence and local-run details from ComfyUI's H3 Flex documentation. Speed, cost and leaderboard comparisons are Pika's own and were not independently tested. DesignArena's leaderboard renders in the browser and could not be loaded from our research machine. Pika H3 Flex launched the same day, so no user reports existed yet to quote. No video was generated for this post.

Pika's 15-second prices are the per-second rate times 15 ($0.035 × 15 = $0.525, shown as $0.53). AIVeed credits per clip come from the public AIVeed API model catalog; packs, refunds, free credits and non-expiring credits from AIVeed pricing. Dollar figures are credits × pack price ÷ pack credits, rounded once: on Business, $99 ÷ 20,000 = $0.00495 a credit, so 120 credits is $0.594 ($0.59), 150 is $0.7425 ($0.74), 240 is $1.188 ($1.19), 300 is $1.485 ($1.49), 380 is $1.881 ($1.88), 450 is $2.2275 ($2.23) and 960 is $4.752 ($4.75). On Pilot, $5 ÷ 600 = $0.00833 a credit, so 120 is $1.00, 150 is $1.25, 240 is $2.00, 300 is $2.50, 380 is $3.167 ($3.17), 450 is $3.75 and 960 is $8.00.
